Warner Brothers‘ debut of their 3-D LEGO movie earned $69.11 million on their opening weekend (7 February 2014). Including oversea profits, this movie has earned a total of $87.2 million! It has been three years since Warner Brothers’ last animated movie and this one was definitely a success.
60% of the audience were adults. You’re never too old for Legos!
This action/adventure/comedy movie is about an average minifigure named Emmett who is mistakened for being the most extraordinary person, and the key to saving the world. This unprepared mini figure goes on a quest with a group of strangers to stop an evil tyrant from destroying the world.
It has been reported that a sequel to this Lego movie is being produced right now! We can’t wait for this one. Now, of course we all wish that some Legends of Chima characters had been incorporated with the movie but despite that mistake, it’ll be hard to top this original LEGO movie! Maybe number two will feature Laval from the Lion Tribe!
There has also been the release of a LEGO Movie Videogame! This rated for children above the age of 10 and is available for PS3, Xbox 360, Xbox One, PS4, Nintendo 3DS, Nintendo Wii U, and Playstation Vita! Check it out here!
